millpunk
A downloadable game for Windows
this game's meant to be a mashup of some aspects i like about townscaper, minecraft / minecraft mods, and rct1.
disclaimer: this is just something i’ve made in my free time, so it’s a little janky and unoptimized in places.
controls:
WASD - walk
drag left mouse - rotate view
drag right mouse - move view
scroll middle mouse - zoom view
left click - destroy
right click - build / interact
middle click - copy
R - rotate built object
some tips:
• wheat only grows when next to flowing water.
• rock can only be destroyed by drilling.
• some voxel types change based on their arrangement and surroundings. for example, by placing multiple bridge voxels in a row, you can generate longer bridge types.
• sand and clay can be found on the seabed.
• you are unable to regrow trees.
how axles work:
• a water wheel generates power based on the flow of water around it, both vertically and horizontally.
• the total generated power in an axle network is distributed equally between all outputs that are currently drawing power (e.g. a millstone while it's milling grain).
• the power an output receives affects its function. for example, a drill destroys rock at a rate proportional to received power.
• if one water wheel in an axle network is trying to turn clockwise and another anti clockwise, they cancel out. this can be resolved using axle T-junctions, which can be right clicked to toggle the gear configuration.
how rails work:
• you can build slopes by placing rail voxels diagonally adjacent to one another, with air in the gaps between them.
• you can build boosters by placing rail above axle. a booster launches a cart at a speed proportional to received axle power.

Thank you for playing! I think I do need to add more information to the guide - trains can either be accelerated using boosters (axle under rail) or slopes (diagonally adjacent rail voxels), and sand/clay make up the seabed around the island.
Updated the guide, really appreciate the playtesting feedback!
for a free-time personal project
it's more than perfect for a aweasome future full release
i love how big-but-tiny the buildings looks, and even on Coal Toy, i'd love to fun with perspectives (orthographic, first person, FOV changes on zoom)
btw, not sure if it was itentional, but not relying on stairs and not being able to fall/jump made me build my path around the world feeling like it was living puzzle (in a VERY good way)
Thanks!! The puzzley-ness of moving, mining etc is indeed intentional! 😁
